CNOOC achieves first oil from shore-powered Bohai Sea project

CNOOC has started up its Suizhong 36-1/Luda 5-2 Oilfield Secondary Adjustment and Development project in the Bohai Sea offshore eastern China.

HONG KONG —  CNOOC has started up its Suizhong 36-1/Luda 5-2 Oilfield Secondary Adjustment and Development project in the Bohai Sea offshore eastern China.

This is the largest secondary project of its type, the company said, located in Liaodong Bay in an average water depth of about 30 m. Production facilities comprise two central processing platforms and two wellhead platforms, with 81 production wells and 37 water injectors to be drilled, with power supplied from the shore.

In 2025, production should hit a peak of 30,300 bbl/d.

CNOOC has a 100% interest in the development.
