Transocean has secured new contracts for two ultradeepwater drillships.

STEINHAUSEN, SwitzerlandTransocean has secured new contracts for two ultradeepwater drillships.

Deepwater Skyros has a three-well extension to its current program offshore Angola at a rate of $400,000 per day.

In the US Gulf of Mexico, Deepwater Invictus has a 40-day assignment.

The orders have lifted the company’s total contract backlog to about $9 billion.
