Oilexco flow tests Moth discovery

Offshore staff

CALGARY, Canada -- The 23/21-6z Moth discovery well in the North Sea has successfully flow tested gas-condensate at significant rates, according to Oilexco North Sea.

The test flowed gas at an average rate of 20.3 MMcf/d of natural gas with 2,110 bbl/d of condensate (5,493 boe/d) through a 36/64-in. choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 4,478 psi during the main flow period, the company says. The maximum flow rate achieved during the test was 24.4 MMcf/d and 2,460 b/d of condensate (6,526 boe/d).

According to the company, calculations of surface absolute open flow suggest that the Moth well could be capable of 44 MMcf/d and 4,400 b/d of condensate (11,800 boe/d) with a properly sized production string.
