BP selects Aibel to solve Schiehallion bottleneck

LONDON -- BP has tagged Aibel's Vessel Internal Electrostatic Coalescer for oil/water separation on the Schiehallion FPSO west of Shetland.

Two of the separator units are scheduled for delivery by the end of April for installation during a scheduled July shutdown.

The separators are designed to improve a production slow-down caused by stable emulsions in the production fluid.
