Ferguson nets two contracts off Australia

Offshore staff

ABERDEEN, Scotland -- Woodside has awarded Ferguson Modular an AU$1.5-million ($1.36-million) contract to supply of a 16 persons on board (POB) accommodation complex for the Pluto platform offshore Western Australia.

The complex, comprising four 10.3-m (34-ft) modules, will provide galley, mess, office, locker, and accommodations. All units are to be A60, DNV 2.7-1 and SOLAS certified and approved.

The company also won a contract from Oleochem Project Management Ltd. for a 6m A60, DNV 2.7-1, Zone 2 laboratory module for the Woodside Angel gas platform on Australia's northwest shelf. This unit will join Ferguson Modular's existing 48 POB accommodation complex already on the platform.

The Pluto LNG Project is northwest of Karratha, Western Australia, and is scheduled to be Western Australia's first new LNG project since the North West Shelf began production in the 1980s. First gas is scheduled to be produced in late 2010.
