KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Lime Petroleum Norway has agreed to acquire EnQuest Norge’s 50% stakes in licenses PL760 and PL760B in the Norwegian Sea.

Total operates both licenses, which are 25 km (15.5 mi) west of Statoil’s Norne oil and gas field in a water depth of 370 m (1,214 ft).

The adjacentMarulk gas field produces from Cretaceous reservoirs similar to those targeted in the two concessions.

To the north, the deepwaterAasta Hansteen gas/condensate field and associated Polarled gas pipeline are both under development, with the route of the pipeline to shore passing close to PL760.

Drilling could start in 2016 or 2017. A drill decision is due to be taken next February.
