TGS finishes 3D seismic campaign offshore South Australia

TGS has completed the second phase of its Nerites 3D seismic survey in the Great Australian Bight offshore South Australia.

ASKER, Norway – TGS has completed the second phase of its Nerites 3D seismic survey in the Great Australian Bight offshore South Australia.

In theNorwegian Barents Sea, the company has been acquiring a 500-sq km (193-sq mi) high-resolution survey since early May, in partnership with WGP Survey, using the latter’s 3D P-Cable technology.

Recently,TGS and EMGS finished an electromagnetic survey covering nine blocks in the same sector, and TGS has also completed acquisition of a 2,900-sq km (1,119-sq mi) 3D survey over the newly-opened southeastern Norwegian Barents Sea using the Europavessel.

Europa has since started acquiring a further 3,000 sq km (1,158 sq mi) of 3D data for the Hjalmar survey, an extension to TGS’ current 3D coverage in the Hoop area where it has more than 25,000 sq km (9,652 sq mi) of data.
