STOCKHOLM, Sweden – PA Resources (PAR) says an exploration well will be drilled next year on the Mer Profond Sud concession offshore Republic of Congo (Brazzaville).

The well will target the RR prospect in the northeast portion of the exploration: procurement is under way of long lead items for the program.

Offshore Equatorial Guinea, PAR is a partner in theDiega discovery, which operator Noble Energy plans to tieback to the Aseng FPSO.

Initially the plan was to fasttrack the development, but following studies completed late last year, the partners proposed to the Ministry of Mines, Industry and Energy to defer submission of a plan.

They are seeking more time to clarify the requirements for gas facilities and capacity on the FPSO, to analyze results from new 3D data, and to pursue commercial arrangements relating to extension of the field into block O to the north.
