TEL AVIV, Israel – Delek Drilling and Avner Oil Exploration have responded to reports in an Israeli newspaper concerning assessment of the resources in the deepwater Leviathan gas/condensate field, operated by Noble Energy.

The Ministry of National Infrastructures, Energy and Water performed the assessment of the resources in leases I/14 “Leviathan South” and I/15 “Leviathan North,” using external consultants.

Delek says the best estimate for the field remains 21.9 tcf gas, based on a report by independent consultants Netherland Sewell and Associates. It adds that the report was drawn up in accordance with the rules of the Petroleum Resources Management System (SPE-PRMS).

The Ministry’s own assessment ofLeviathan field, as far as Delek and its partners are aware, has not been completed and does not yet incorporate all relevant and up to date findings concerning the field.
