KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Petronas has delivered first oil from the Bukit Tua field development in the Ketapang block, 110 km (68 mi) offshore East Java.
This is the company’s biggest upstream project in Indonesia, according to general manager Hazli Sham Kassim.
Production heads to theRatu Nusantara FPSO, with oil offloaded to tankers and gas exported to Gresik, East Java via a 110-km (65-mi) subsea pipeline.
During its early phase, Bukit Tua is set to produce 3,700 b/d of oil and 2 MMcf/d (56,634 cm/d) of gas, eventually building to a peak of 20,000 b/d of oil and 50 MMcf/d (1.4 MMcm/d).
Petrogas Jatim Utama, owned by the East Java provincial government, has agreed to purchase for electricity generation in Indonesia.
Petronas PC Ketapang II operates the Ketapang block, in partnership with state-owned Perusahaan Gas Negara via its subsidiary PT Saka Ketapang Perdana.
