Eni Norge gets underwater operations approval from PSA for Goliat

The Petroleum Safety Authority of Norway has consented for Eni Norge to do underwater operations as part of the Goliat field installation.

OSLO, Norway – The Petroleum Safety Authority of Norway has consented for Eni Norge to do underwater operations as part of the Goliat field installation. The operations include riser installation.

The diving operations will be performed by Technip Norge AS, using theTechnip Seahunter light diving craft. The operations will begin during 2Q 2015 and are scheduled to last for 26 days.

Water depth at the site is 370 m (1,214 ft). The facility has a draft of 19 m (62 ft) and the underwater activities will not go deeper than 30 m (98 ft) below the surface.

Eni Norge is the operator of the Goliat oil and gas field on the Tromsøflaket bank around 85 km (53 mi) northwest of Hammerfest. The field is being developed using anFPSO vessel of the Sevan 1000 type, along with subsea well templates.
