ZUG, Switzerland –Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) has won a 45-day contract extension for the Sedco Expressoffshore Nigeria at a day rate of $300,000.
GSF Galaxy II has secured a two-month extension for work in the UK North Sea at a day rate of $190,000.
Transocean’s Sedco Energyhas received an early release from its customer.
The company intends to scrap theGSF Explorerin an environmentally responsible manner; and the rig currently is classified as held for sale.
