ASKER, Norway – TGS and Dolphin Geophysical will jointly acquire a 4,500-sq km (1,737-sq mi) 3D multi-client seismic survey over the western part of the Hammerfest basin in the Barents Sea.

The survey will provide broadband data over the Norwegian government’s APA licensing acreage not previously covered by modern MC 3D.

Successful exploration of remaining resources in this area could open further commercial developments, TGS adds.

The project will link Dolphin’s existing Gotha 3D survey withTGS’ Finnmark Platform 3D survey and should lead to seamless data coverage over large areas in the western Barents Sea.
