CALGARY, Canada – Production performance continues to improve at the Breagh gas field in the UK southern North Sea, according to partner Sterling Resources.
First-quarter sales totaled 11.1 bcf (314 MMcm), equating to an average of 123 MMcf/d (3.48 MMcm/d), while production uptime to date this year has been around 96%.
The partners have also commissioned new 3D seismic across the Breagh field area for use in the ongoing development, including the remaining Phase 1 drilling program and Phase 2 development planning.
Sterling’s goals for 2015 for its other UK offshore interest include continued development of the TAQA-operatedCladhan field, due to start up in September; a farm-out of licenses containing the Niadar and Ossian/Darach prospects; and drilling of an appraisal well on either the Evelyn or Belinda oil discoveries.
In the Dutch North Sea, processing and interpretation is nearing completion of 500 sq km (193 sq mi) of 3D seismic acquired last year over oil discoveries and prospects in the Jurassic/early Cretaceous in theF17a and F18 blocks (Sterling 35%, operator).
The aims are to improve reservoir understanding and to help evaluate new exploration potential and existing development options.
Another 3D seismic survey acquired during 2012 over the Sterling-operated E03 and F01 blocks is also under evaluation.
