CGG starts 3D seismic survey for Sterling offshore Madagascar

Sterling Energy (AIM: SEY) says a 1,250-sq km (482-sq mi) 3D seismic survey is under way over the Ambilobe block offshore Madagascar.

LONDONSterling Energy (AIM: SEY) says a 1,250-sq km (482-sq mi) 3D seismic survey is under way over the Ambilobe block offshore Madagascar.

CGG Services is performing the work, which is expected to take 40-50 days to complete.

The production-sharing contract for the block, awarded in 2004, is in Phase 2 of the exploration period.

In December 2013,Pura Vida Mauritius farmed into 50% of the PSC by agreeing to cover all costs for the 3D program up to a maximum of $15 million.
