LONDON – Afren has commented on press reports concerning the shallow-water Okoro field development offshore Nigeria.
These concern AMNI Petroleum Development Co.’s apparent decision to terminate its production-sharing and technical services agreement with Afren Energy Resources.
Afren says it previously received and rejected a notice of breach of the agreement from AMNI, and disputes that AMNI is entitled to terminate the agreement for the alleged breaches.
Further, Afren says it has offered to meet AMNI to discuss the parties’ future collaboration under the agreement and that operations continue at Okoro in line with expectations.
