MOSCOW – Rosneft has signed a memorandum of understanding with Golar LNG on cooperation in the area of liquefaction and transportation of natural gas.
The two parties will analyze the possibility of employing Golar’s advanced FLNG technologies on Rosneft projects, allowing the company to potentially accelerate development of its gas fields inRussia and reduce upfront capex for LNG plants by using the Golar FLNG fleet.
This year Rosneft plans to continue building coastal support bases in Russia and surveying the soils in parts of the Barents and Okhotsk seas to prepare for drilling in 2016.
Additionally, it expects to continue development of theSakhalin-1 and Northern Chayvo projects with partner ExxonMobil.
