    Offshore US rig count continues slide

    The Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count has the offshore total at 34, three fewer than last week and 16 fewer year over year.

    HOUSTON –The Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count has the offshore total at 34, three fewer than last week and 16 fewer year over year.

    The totalUS count is 1,048, down by 21 from the week before, with oil rigs decreasing by 12 to  813 and gas rigs by nine, down to 233, with miscellaneous rigs remaining at two.

    TheCanadian rig count is down 20 rigs to 120, which is 178 fewer than last year’s 298.
