HAMILTON, Bermuda – Teekay Offshore has suffered a setback in its efforts to deploy a 2010-built HiLoad DP unit which it acquired from Remora in 2013 for $60 million.

In December,Petrobras informed Teekay that the unit, designed for offshore offloading operations, did not meet certain test criteria for Brazilian offshore operations.

Teekay says it continues to believe in the application of HiLoad technology for safe and economical offshore loading operations and is pursuing alternative options.
