CNOOC produces first oil from shallow-water Bohai Jinzhou project

HONG KONGCNOOC Ltd. has started production from its 100%-owned Jinzhou 9-3 comprehensive adjustment project offshore China.

The Jinzhou 9-3 oil field is in the North Liaodong Bay in Bohai in water depths ranging from 6.5-10.5 m (21.3-34.5 ft). Main production facilities are a central processing platform, a wellhead platform, and 21 producing wells.

Currently 15 wells are producing around 7,600 b/d of crude. The adjustment project is expected to reach peak production of around 12,000 b/d later this year.

CNOOC expects to bring onstream six more new projects this year. The list includes the Kenli 10-1 project and the Bozhong 28/34 comprehensive adjustment project in Bohai, where planned peak production is respectively 36,000 and 30,000 boe/d.
