Woodside secures farm-in offshore Nova Scotia

Woodside Petroleum has finalized an agreement with BP to farm in to 20% of various offshore blocks in Nova Scotia’s Scotian basin.

PERTH, Australia – Woodside Petroleum has finalized an agreement with BP to farm in to 20% of various offshore blocks in Nova Scotia’s Scotian basin.

BP will continue to operate the exploration licenses 2431, 2432, 2433 and 2434, which cover 14,000 sq km (5,405 sq mi) in water depths ranging from 500-3,600 m (1,640-11,811 ft).

The partners expect to start drilling exploration wells in 2017.

OffWestern Australia, Woodside has entered into a binding transaction to acquire various assets from Apache Corp.

These comprise a 13% interest in the Wheatstone LNG project; 65% of the Julimar-Brunello upstream gas development; and 65% of the producing Balnaves oil project.
