Suncor gets go-ahead to drill offshore Norway

Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority has granted Suncor Energy Norge AS consent to drill exploration well 34/4-14 S and A in the Norwegian Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway– Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority has granted Suncor Energy Norge AS consent to drill exploration well 34/4-14 S and A in the Norwegian Sea.

Suncor is the operator of production license 375 in block 34/4.

Drilling is planned to begin later this month and last 154 days, depending on whether a discovery is made. The company will use Dolphin Drilling’sBorgland Dolphin, an Aker H-3 type semisubmersible drilling rig.
