OWA Advisory Board Chairman welcomes delegates to Offshore West Africa 2015

Jan. 19, 2015
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Lagos, Nigeria, for the Offshore West Africa Conference and Exhibition 2015.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Lagos, Nigeria, for theOffshore West Africa Conference and Exhibition 2015. This event will mark the 19th year of Offshore West Africa Conference and Exhibition in the continent.

This conference and exhibition was last held in Nigeria in 2012, after which it was held consecutively in Accra, Ghana. This return to Nigeria is in recognition of the role it plays in the oil and gas industry within the continent.

The oil and gas landscape in Africa is changing rapidly, as demonstrated by the many emerging oil and gas nations in the region. This change brings with it higher expectations by both the countries and the investors alike. It also is compelling industry players to reduce operational costs, which is increasing demand for more efficient and dependable exploration and production technologies. These changes are weighed against new and evolving national oil and gas laws especially in favor of local content considerations.

These issues define the scope of the Offshore West Africa Conference and Exhibition. As an annual event, the Offshore West Africa provides the technical forum for the sharing of experiences and discussions of the challenges and advancements of oil and gas exploration and production activities in the West Africa sub-region. The accompanying exhibition provides companies the opportunities to showcase their technologies, advancements, and success stories that impact operations in the sub-region.

As the chairman of the Advisory Board, it is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the event and benefit from the carefully packaged session topics touching on areas such as: lessons learned from recent field developments, subsea technology, production optimization, asset integrity, emerging technical solutions, perspectives on local content in the sub-region, regional trends and challenges, and much more.

The benefits from the forum are not limited to the technical sessions and exhibition; it equally provides networking opportunities with leading players and stakeholders in the industry.

Once again, on behalf of the Offshore West Africa Advisory Board, PennWell Corp, and Offshore, the world’s leading offshore oil and gas magazine, I am pleased to welcome industry leaders from West Africa and around the world to this exceptional forum to exchange ideas, share solutions, and learn from each other’s experiences.

Sincerely,

George Oguachuba
Offshore West Africa 2015 Advisory Board Chairman
