Maximizing production, yields maximum profits, in unconventional reservoirs, such as deepwater oil fields whose development requires a minimum oil price to guarantee optimum returns, especially in areas where wells’ availability remains high. Extracting the maximum out of the reservoir, without jeopardizing reserve recovery or asset integrity, requires in-depth understanding of reservoir behavior, well performance, and integrity constraints. Offshore West Africa is one such area where high-well availability is maintainable, as the region is not impacted by external factors such as hurricanes as in the case of the US Gulf of Mexico.
In his presentation, Khan will explain how Total is maximizing production through real-time monitoring, transverse interactive workflows, and well-coordinated, integrated operations planning to make the most of the high wells’ availability in deepwater Nigeria.
