Norway authorizes Norwegian Sea, North Sea wildcats

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has cleared Maersk Oil Norway to drill the Tvillingen Sør prospect in the Norwegian Sea.

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has cleared Maersk Oil Norway to drill the Tvillingen Sør prospect in the Norwegian Sea.

The semisubmersibleLeiv Eiriksson will drill well 6404/6-4 in license PL 510, 180 km (112 mi) northwest of Kristiansund, in a water depth of 260 m (853 ft). Drilling is expected to begin this month and is estimated to last 120 days.

Lundin Norway has authorization from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill an exploration well 32.8 km (20.4 mi) northeast of theJohan Sverdrup discovery well in the central Norwegian North Sea.

The semisubIsland Innovator will drill well 26/10-1, the first on PL 674 which was awarded in early 2013.
