ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – Technip Oceania has contracted Jumbo to install 13 subsea structures for Chevron’s Wheatstone project offshore Western Australia.
These comprise of pipeline termination structures (PTSs), subsea isolation valve structures, tee protection structures (TPSs), and drill center manifolds – the latter, weighing up to 564 tons, will be installed in a maximum water depth of 240 m (787 ft).
Jumbo will deploy the DP-2heavy-lift vesselFairplayerfor the work, probably from April/May 2015 onward. The vessel is equipped with two 900-ton revolving deepwater cranes.
Wheatstone is being developed via a subsea gas gathering system tied back to a recently installed platform. Gas will be exported from the platform to an onshore LNG complex through a dedicated trunkline. First gas production/LNG start-up is due next year.
