TEHRAN, Iran – New development projects are under way on two offshore Iranian fields in the Persian Gulf, according to news service Shana.

The development operator of theForouzan oil field has started building two new platforms and has ordered various other equipment items. A South Korean contractor is building the FZA and LQA platforms.

Official Ebrahim Delavaran Shiraz said the two platforms would doubleForouzan’s production capacity, with one providing pressure boosting. Construction should finish in early 2016.

Iranian Offshore Oil Co. has commissioned Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex Co (ISOICO) in Hormuzgan province to build three more platforms for theHangam oil field.

ISOICO managing director Hamid Rezaeian Asl said each 1,500-ton structure will take 20 months to complete, at a total cost of $20 million. The contractor has already built the jackets.
