HOUSTON –The explosion on the West Delta 105 E platform this past week came during maintenance on a heater treater, reports Fieldwood Energy. The event was inside the equipment and did not involve any of the wells, themselves.
The one person killed and the three injured people are employees of Turnkey Cleaning Services. Those injured have been released from the hospital, and all other personnel on the platform have been accounted for.
Fieldwood says it, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, and Turnkey Cleaning are working with the US Coast Guard to investigate the incident.
