Lundin to spud Lindarormen prospect

Stockholm –Lundin Petroleum has commenced exploratory drilling of well 6405/12-1 in PL584.

The well will investigate the hydrocarbon potential of the Lindarormen prospect in the license, about 93 m (150 km) northwest of Kristiansund on the Norwegian coast and about 50 mi (80 km) northeast of the Ormen Lange field.

The main objective of the well 6405/12-1 is to test the reservoir properties and hydrocarbon potential of Paleocene sandstones in the Ras Basin. The prospect is estimated to hold 194 MMboe.

Lundin expects to reach a TD of 10,761 ft (3,280 m) below mean sea level and the well will be drilled using theBredford Dolphin semisubmersible. Drilling is expected to take about 60 days.

Lundin Norway is the operator and has a 60% working interest in PL584. Bayerngas Norge is partner with 40% working interest.
