TORSHAVN, Faroe Islands – Atlantic Petroleum and operator Iona Energy UK have signed all necessary agreements with CNR International (U.K.) for the Orlando field development in the UK northern North Sea.

Development involves re-entering the suspended 3/3b-13z well, drilling a 3,000-ft (914-m) horizontal section to be completed with dual electric submersible pumps (ESPs). A subsea pipeline, power supply, and control umbilical will be laid between the wellhead and CNR’s Ninian Central platform (NCP), 10 km (6.2 mi) to the southwest.

The agreements cover construction and tie-in; processing and operating services; individual gas sales; and common stream agreements. First oil is expected by the end of 2016.

The partners plan to start installation of brownfield equipment on NCP in 2015, with subsea installation and drilling activities due to begin in spring 2016.

Manufacture of theOrlando line pipe is complete as are the power cables for the ESPs.  Umbilical manufacture is in progress for delivery in early 2016. Manufacture of the control system and christmas tree are also under way, with other contracts due to be finalized for the remainder of the subsea equipment.
