PSA grants Statoil permission to drill Saturn prospect in Barents Sea

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Statoil permission for exploration drilling in the Barents Sea on the Saturn prospect.

STAVANGER, Norway –The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Statoil permission for exploration drilling in the Barents Sea on the Saturn prospect.

The ultra-deepwater semisubmersibleTransocean Spitsbergen will drill exploration well 7227/10-1 in production license 230. Water depth of the site is 761 ft (232 m).

Drilling is expected to commence in the second half of October 2014, and last for 45 days.
