OSLO, Norway –Perupetro, the state oil company of Peru, has contracted Spectrum to reprocess existing 2D offshore seismic data with a view toward an upcoming bid round.

The bid round is expected in 4Q 2014 and Spectrum will reprocess 13,000 km (8,078 mi) of 2D multi-client regional seismic data covering the blocks to be on offer.

Bidding is expected to include six to nine offshore blocks along the central and southern areas of the country, and covering the two types of sedimentary basins: extensional, pull-apart basins (e.g. Trujillo and Mollendo basin) and upper trench slope basins (e.g. Lima and Pisco basins).

“Thereprocessed data is showing great uplift compared to the original legacy data,” said Richie Miller, president, Spectrum’s North America region. “We are confident that the newly reprocessed seismic data will draw even greater interest for Peru’s upcoming bid round.”
