FES nets North Sea contract with NOV Flexibles

FES International has won a $1.25-million contract to supply four diverless bend stiffener connectors (SBSCs) to NOV Flexibles.

ASHINGTON, UKFES International has won a $1.25-million contract to supply four diverless bend stiffener connectors (SBSCs) to NOV Flexibles.

DBSCs enable cost-effective installation of bend stiffeners on offshore deepwater drilling vessels.

NOV Flexibles will use the DBSCs at the Mariner field,Statoil’s heavy oil development located 70 km (43 mi) west of Heimdal in the UK sector of the North Sea. The DBSCs will connect to pipes operating at water depths ranging between 97 m (318 ft) and 112 m (367 ft).

Work has begun on the DBSC contract, which will be delivered by Oct. 31.
