Woodside discovers gas at Toro

Woodside Petroleum Ltd’s Toro-1 exploration well in permit WA-430-P has intersected 150 m (492 ft) of gross gas and 65 m (213 ft) of net gas within the Mungaroo formation target.

PERTH, AustraliaWoodside Petroleum Ltd’s Toro-1 exploration well in permit WA-430-P has intersected 150 m (492 ft) of gross gas and 65 m (213 ft) of net gas within the Mungaroo formation target.

The well reached TD of 3,724 m (12,218 ft). Following drilling, wireline logging confirmed the presence of a gas column through pressure measurements and gas sampling. The well will now be P&A’d as planned.

Toro is inWestern Australia’s Exmouth sub-basin within 22 km (14 mi) of Woodside’s existing Ragnar-1A discovery.

Woodside is the operator and 70% equity owner of WA-430-P.Mitsui E&P Australia has the remaining 30% equity.
