TEL AVIV, Israel – Delek Group says the partners in the Tamar I/12 lease offshore Israel have filed a petition to the Israeli High Court.

This follows the decision by the Petroleum Commissionaire to block theproposed development of the Tamar Southwest gas discovery through the existing Tamar field facilities.

According to Delek, the petition seeks an explanation of the reasoning behind the veto. It appears to be because reservoir encroaches into a small part of the Eran/353 license.

However, Delek points out that its subsidiaries held rights in this license, the validity of which expired despite their request for an extension.

The partnerships and other rights holders in Eran/353 submitted an appeal last October to the Minister of National Infrastructures, Energy, and Water Resources.
