Statoil cleared to shut in Gullfaks well

Statoil has permission from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to permanently plug a well at the Gullfaks Sør field in the North Sea.

OSLO, Norway – Statoil has permission from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to permanently plug a well at the Gullfaks Sør field in the North Sea.

The semisubmersibleDeepsea Atlantic is expected to start the 16-day program on well 34/10-52A/B in mid-August.

Gullfaks Sør has been developed with 12 subsea templates tied back to the Gullfaks A and Gullfaks C facilities.
