WOTTON-UNDER-EDGE, UK – Alderley Metering Solutions has commissioned a crude oil metering system for Fairfield Energy’s Dunlin Alpha platform in the UK northern North Sea.
The contract scope covers a replacement metering package comprising 3 x 50% metering streams using Coriolis metering technology, a master meter, and associated control panel.
The package could not be skid mounted due to limited offshore access and was therefore designed to be suspended from the overhead steels above a raised mezzanine area. Alderley completed a 3D laser scan site survey in advance to ensure design accuracy.
Following testing and delivery of the equipment,Alderley and AMEC engineers performed commissioning over a four-week period that coincided with a planned platform shutdown.
