OSLO, Norway – Lundin Norway has clearance from the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) for exploration drilling on license 631.
The semisubmersibleBredford Dolphin could start drilling later this month of well 33/12-10 S of the Vollgrav structure. The program could last 55 days, including production testing.
PSA also has authorized use of the semisubFloatel Superior as a mobile accommodation facility to support Statoil’s Valemon gas field development in North Sea blocks 34/11 and 34/10, west of the Kvitebjørn field. Water depth is 135 m (443 ft).
The consent runs from Aug. 1 through Dec. 15, close to the expected field start-up date.
Valemon’s development calls for a fixed production platform with a steel jacket, and a simplified separation process. The facility will be controlled remotely from the Kvitebjørn facilities.
