RIO DE JANEIRO –A fire reportedly broke out on an oil platform at the Marlim field in the Campos basin offshore Brazil, according to local port authorities late Wednesday, days after union officials complained about offshore safety, Dow Jones Newswires reported.

The fire broke out after water and hydrocarbon vapors condensed on equipment in thePetrobras'P-35 platform’s gas treatment unit. Platform workers controlled the fire and there were no deaths or environmental issues related to the accident, according to the newswires.
