Aibel receives Oseberg contract for new living quarters

- Aibel has received a contract from Statoil for the hook-up of new living quarters to the Oseberg C platform in the North Sea.

Stavanger, Norway - Aibel has received a contract from Statoil for the hook-up of new living quarters to the Oseberg C platform in the North Sea. The contract has a value of about $20 million (MNOK 125).

The project, Oseberg C Continuous Drilling (LQ Extension), is an contract, encompassing engineering, procurement, construction and installation. The new module will connect to existing living quarters on the Oseberg C platform, offering 30 additional housing cabins offshore. Work is slated to commence the first week of August and connection is scheduled for 2Q 2016.

The Oseberg Center, located on blocks 30/6 and 30/9 in the northern part of the North Sea in a water depth of 328 ft (100 m), consists of four platforms, Oseberg A, B, C, and D. Three platforms that are connected by walkways are situated on the southern area of the Oseberg field; the fourth platform, C, is situated north of the field center.

Statoil serves as the operator of the Oseberg Center and holds a 49.30% interest; Petoro AS holds a 33.60% interest; Total E&P Norge AS holds a 10% interest; ExxonMobil holds a 4.70% interest; and ConocoPhillips holds the remaining 2.40%.
