TEHRAN, Iran – Iranian Offshore Oil Co. (IOOC) plans to increase production from the offshore Hangam oil field in the Strait of Hormuz.
IOOC official Mohammad-Baqer Soleimani told Iranian news service Shana a new pipeline to shore-based process facilities will allow the Hangam offshore complex to produce more than the current 20,000 b/d.
Production of gas from the field, which straddles the median line with Oman, could also be doubled.
Hangam is estimated to hold in-place reserves of more than 700 MMbbl of oil and 2 tcf (55 bcm) of natural gas.
In thePersian Gulf, Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. (IOEC) is preparing to install the second platform of the South Pars phases 15/16 project.
The Abouzar 100 platform, built by Iran’s Offshore Industries Co., was due to be loaded out from Bandar Abbas. It weighs 3,700 tons.
By late July the fourth jacket forSouth Pars Phase 13 is expected to be installed. Iran Marine Industrial Co. is building all four platforms.
Pre-commissioning of the Phase 18 platform is nearly completed and the facility should enter service before the winter season. Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO), IOEC, OIEC, and Iran Marine Industrial Co. are developingphases 17 and 18.
