Petrobras concludes Sagitário presalt tests offshore Brazil

Petrobras has completed formation testing of its 1-SPS-98 Sagitário discovery well in the Santos basin presalt.

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Petrobras has completed formation testing of its 1-SPS-98 Sagitário discovery well in the Santos basin presalt, first announced in late February.

Results confirm carbonate reservoirs with good permeability.

This was the first well on block BM-S-50. The location was 194 km (120 mi) off the São Paulo coast, in a water depth of 1,871 m (6,138 ft).

After reaching a subsurface depth of 6,144 m (20,157 ft) the well detected 159 m (521 ft) ofpresalt reservoirs with good-quality 32º API oil.
