Lamprell wins jackup order from Shelf Drilling

Shelf Drilling has contracted Lamprell to build two LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class jackups.

SHARJAH, UAE – Shelf Drilling has contracted Lamprell to build two LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class jackups. Value is more than $370 million. 

The rigs, designed by engineering and operations personnel from Shelf Drilling and Lamprell for operations inSoutheast Asia, will be able to work in water depths of up to 350 ft (107 m) and to construct wells with a maximum drilling depth of 30,000 ft (9,144 m).

They will accommodate up to 160 people.

Lamprell will fabricate both jackups in its Hamriyah yard, with deliveries set for 3Q 2016 and 2Q 2017.
