JVPC jackup reaches offshore Vietnam field location

Fairmount Marine’s tug Fairmount Expedition has towed the jackup Naga 3 to the RD-19X oil field in block 15-2 offshore southern Vietnam.

ROTTERDAM, the NetherlandsFairmount Marine’s tug Fairmount Expedition has towed the jackup Naga 3 to the RD-19X oil field in block 15-2 offshore southern Vietnam.

Last month the tug towed the rig from Singapore to the PV Marine Shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam, where the tug remained anchored.

After reaching the offshore locationFairmount Expedition assisted with installation of the rig and some cargo runs, accommodating onboard some employees of the block operator Japan Vietnam Petroleum Co.

TheNaga 3 is a 70-m (229-ft) high, Gusto MSC CJ46-X100-D design jackup, built in 2010 by Dubai Drydocks World and owned by UMW Petropipe/Singapore Drilling. It can drill wells up to 9,144 m (30,000 ft) in depth.
