Ocean Osprey receives five-year North Sea support contract

Shell UK has awarded Atlantic Offshore Rescue a five-year charter with extension options to assist operations in the Gannet and Anasuria fields in the UK central North Sea and the Dana Petroleum-operated Triton complex.

ABERDEEN, UK – Shell UK has awarded Atlantic Offshore Rescue a five-year charter with extension options to assist operations in the Gannet and Anasuria fields in the UK central North Sea and the Dana Petroleum-operated Triton complex.

Ocean Osprey, a new Class A tanker assist, rescue, and standby ship, will provide emergency recovery, rescue cover, tanker assistance, and general field support. It is the first of a new H820 design produced by Havyard Ship Design and was developed in collaboration with Atlantic Offshore.

Zamakona Shipbuilders constructed the 66.9-m (219-ft) long vessel in Passai, Spain, as a replacement for Atlantic’sOcean Searcher. Two sister vessels are also under construction as part of the company’s fleet modernization program.

Ocean Ospreycan accommodate up to 21 personnel and has the capacity to rescue more than 300 persons.
