Flemish Pass partners plan further deepwater drilling

CALGARY, Canada – Husky Energy and Statoil have secured the semisubmersible West Hercules for an exploration and appraisal campaign this fall in the deepwater Flemish Pass basin offshore Newfoundland & Labrador.

Prior to drilling, the partners will acquire new seismic data in the area of theirBay du Nord discovery.

Development continues of various satellites in the White Rose area, Husky adds. Gas injection started in 1Q on the South White Rose extension. Production equipment should be installed this summer with first oil expected around year-end.
Construction continues on a graving dock to support construction of a fixed wellhead platform at West White Rose. Assuming approvals, first production is slated for 2017.

Offshore Indonesia, Husky has signed a production-sharing contract for the Anugerah block in the East Java basin, and expects to start exploration activity later this year.
