NCOC appoints service provider for Kashagan rotating equipment

ASTANA, Kazakhstan– KTR-WG Turbine Services, a joint venture between Wood Group GTS and KazTurboRemont, has secured a long-term service agreement with North Caspian Production Operating Co.

The partnership will support rotating equipment used to develop the 5,600-sq km (2,162-sq mi)Kashagan oil field in the Caspian Sea.

This includes six GE Frame 6B, two GE Frame 5D, three Siemens SGT-600 and four Rolls-Royce RB211 gas turbines, and all driven equipment, steam turbines, standby diesels and compressors.

Initially the contract has an eight-year term, and covers the supply of parts, repairs, planned maintenance, and supervisors to manage the full scope of rotating equipment.

KazTurboRemont plans to establish a gas turbine component repair facility in Kazakhstan, which will train local supervisors.
