SÃO PAULO, Brazil – GE’s Distributed Power division is to supply four LM2500+G4 aeroderivative gas turbine generators to MODEC.

These will supply 85 MW of electricity to theFPSOCidade de Caraguatatuba MV-27 which will operate in 2,240 m (7,349 ft) of water serving presalt fields offshore Brazil.

The four turbines will support the facility’s production processes, water reinjection, gas compression and process heating, and will run on non-commercial grade “field gas” produced at the vessel.

GE expects to ship the completed package in late 2014 for installation in 2015. They are expected to enter service in either 2016 or 2017.
