TEHRAN, Iran –The Iranian Offshore Oil Co. plans to increase Persian Gulf production by installing four platforms on three fields by 1Q 2015.

The Shana news service reports that Reza Bayazi, IOCC’s director for engineering and construction, said the three fields are Abuzar,Forouzan, and Doroud. He added that the jackets for Abuzar and Doroud are making progress and that the F 18 platform is well ahead of the others.

It is estimated oil production from Abuzar oil field to rise to 225,000 b/d after drilling new wells and re-entering some of the existing wells, said Shana.

Located 75 km (47 mi) west of Kharg Island, Abouzar is IOCC’s largest Gulf oilfield and it currently has three main platforms.

Oilproduction from Forouzan oil field is expected to rise by 10,000 b/d to 40,000 b/d with the addition of gas injection. The field also produces natural gas for Kharg’s NGL plant.

Shana also reports the Iran’s gas hydrates exploration in the Sea of Oman is 70% complete now, and should be over by September
