Main Galoc Phase II contracts issued

Otto Energy (ASX:OEL) has issued an update on the Phase II development of the Galoc field offshore the Philippines.

WEST PERTH, Australia – Otto Energy (ASX:OEL) has issued an update on the Phase II development of the Galoc field offshore the Philippines.

The joint venture partner took a final investment decision (FID) this past September on the project, which is due to deliver first oil during the second half of 2013.

Since FID, contracts have been awarded to Diamond Offshore Australia for use of theOcean Patriot for development drilling; to DOF Subsea Asia Pacific for offshore construction using the Skandia Hercules; and to Dril-Quip Asia Pacific for subsea wellheads and trees.

Main equipment items are arriving in forward operating bases in Southeast Asia ahead of mobilization to the Galoc field.

The drilling rig should mobilize early in 2Q 2013. The Galoc partners also are considering an exploration well in the northern field area.

Interpretation of 3D seismic has been finalized and design of the Galoc-5 and Galoc-6 wells has been completed.
